Thank you Youtube.

In preparation for the upcoming delivery, I have been trying to educate myself about the whole birthing process. I have read countless books and websites, talked to friends and family members, and discovered that you can actually watch live births on Youtube.

Some of these videos have been really helpful and instructive. Others made me want to run and hide. But since it is too late to get off the roller coaster at this point, I am grateful for a chance to see childbirth for what it really is.

Now who these women are and however they got the nerve to post this vulnerable moment online for the world to see... I don't know. But I thank them.

My wife would watch those videos, and they would make her really nervous and anxious. Finally she decided that she didn't want to watch them anymore for her own sanity. Then we went to a birth class and what did we watch? More birth videos.

Ok, good luck!! It's a wonderful experience...when it's over. But what nobody had ever told me was how long you will push. I was at a 10 and asked the nurse how long will this take? She said first time moms push for an average of 1 hour and some push for 2 hours! I pushed for 2 1/2 hours and still didn't get him out! So, just don't be surprised. I hate those women who push twice! Yes, HATE! I wish you the best. You really are in for the best thing that can happen to you! You look great!

Now I'm curious and might have to to a little you tube searching. I love childbirth. I think it is fascinating and that it is simply a miracle. I can't wait to see your precious little one!

Wow! That is some thorough preparation, you will do great. every birth is so different though that I suggest knowing the basics and then just rolling with the punches.
